I've been working in virtual delivery since the late 1990's when platforms like WebEx, Adobe Connect, and GoToMeeting first came on the scene.  With new platforms and tools like Zoom, Thinkific, Klaxoon, and Mural, there are now so many ways to keep your learners connected and engaged in a virtual learning experience.  And in the time of quarantine, now more than ever, we need to ensure that our learning experiences are not just sound for learning, but how are they for our human connections.  

I believe that now more than ever learning professionals need to design and conduct their learning experiences in a way that enables meaningful human connections.  As more and more of our learning experiences are moving from face to face to virtual platforms like Zoom and others, how do we accomplish this task?  Is it more than using our webcams and chat? How do we do this?  Can we design for this without being tech geeks?  

I believe that not only can we do this, we must do this right now.  Our society requires us to rediscover those parts of our humanity that keep us connected to ourselves, to what we value, and to each other.
